Nice Idea!

The first thing I want to say is that you have a really good idea. Musically, everything fits together very nicely. I enjoyed every bit especially the breakdown at ~2:48. Production wise, I spotted a couple problems. First of all, it sounds like your bass is stereo? Low frequencies are omnidirectional so it's best if you keep them mono. Also your main synth. It was very nice but I thought it was a tad bit too loud compared to the rest of the song. Other than that, great job. Keep it up!

Cheers, mate.

Ekojo responds:

Thanks Boriken I'll definitely remember that about bass. I never really knew that. The main synth was quite loud but I must have layered that portion over itself so thats a bit of a problem that I'm too lazy to fix atm :P

Acid!

Oh that is one nice bass, it's so acidic. To be honest, it doesn't sound much like modern dubstep but it does go very well with this tune. I really like this track, and I can't wait until you make more. Good job!

NullSound responds:

Thanks alot Boriken, it's appreciated. Shame that everyone else must think it's not very good. Score : 2.41 when i read this.
That's so low :(

Good Track

This a good track I must say. There were a couple of things that I heard that I thought could use a little more polishing up though. The synths are nice but the drum track can get extremely repetitive. It does this twice. Maybe you should think about making a couple different drum loops and shuffling it up a little bit. Also, It might just be me but the drums seem really loud compared to the synth, try lowering the volume a bit. I don't know anything about mastering but I'm just telling you what my ears perceive. :)

AlexCo responds:

Depends. What system are you using?

There's a sub bass underneath everything which makes the mix sound full, so nothing is too loud or too quiet. The reese is meant to sit on top of the sub, and the drums to cut through and add power.

And yeah, It does need some fills.

And uh, Mastering hasn't got to do with anything about the mix. Volume, EQ & Compression is all done on individual channels, not the master channel, which is for making the overall track sound more professional, louder and clearer.

Why you ..

This is a fantastic track. At first I thought it was going to be something geared more towards trance. Very atmospheric, but I think maybe you should add more random robot sounds.
Now onto the second, true Dubstep part of the track. This is amazing man. A wobbling robot, oh shit. Maybe a little more variation in your wobble, but other than that, spot on.

Aydin-Jewelz123 responds:

Hehehe it seems I've tricked someone again with my miss leading introductions :P

Thanks for the heads up, im gonna add more robotic stuff after I've gone through and finished the track, that way there wont be a reliance on robots to make the track sound good rather they will be like the icing on the cake or something!
